The Top 20 Albums of the '00s: Number 7

Yeah Yeah Yeahs - Fever To Tell (2003, Polydor/Interscope)

At number 7 of the list with our favorite albums of the '00s we find the debut of one of the best bands to emerge in this decade. Any of the three very different but equally excellent LPs released by Yeah Yeah Yeahs could have been chosen for the Top 10, but I've decided to go with the raw, explosive "Fever To Tell" as it was also one of the most impressive debuts of the decade. The most stunning moment of the record and the point where you realize that there's so much more to this band than manic energy and exhilarating noise is when suddenly, amidst all the chaos, you come across "Maps", one of the sweetest love songs ever written. Read here the NME review (who also included the album in their Top 10) and here you can find our take on the best music of 2003.
